Last Goodbye

I’ve finally graduated and wanted to capture the bittersweet moments as I look back on all the relationships that have grown apart. My four years of memories will always be a part of me, as I’ve grown a lot within that time frame.

I started this project in 2023, not knowing exactly where it would go. At the time, it was a happy story, filmed during a moment when college still felt full of life and connection. But as time passed and some relationships faded, the sentimentality of senior year shifted me to change it into a sad one, so I filmed the breakup scene this spring.

This project also taught me how to film in a more run-and-gun style. I didn’t have a strong idea of what shots I wanted until we got to the shooting location, so I had to rely more on instinct, the space, and the actors’ natural chemistry. Since I was filming solo with only my camera, I encouraged the couple to act candidly and let the moments unfold naturally.

This is my last goodbye to my college days…
